They are very nice, the staff is very connected, and knowledgeable. They make you feel very confident about their ability to care for your loved one. Just from talking to them, they provide a high level of care, they really know their residents, and their residents are like their family.

Yet the Guilford House has absolutely no documentation of any event. As far as they are concerned nothing happened. It is an unsolved mystery as to how Dad, who was unable to transfer himself and hadn't walked in over a year had multiple fractures in his leg with nothing documented in any Guilford House records. Someone who was working at the Guilford House knows what happened to Dad. What we do know is if we had to do it over again we would NEVER, ever, send our parent or anyone we love to the Guilford House for rehab. What really matters is that the rehab facility caring for your family member is competent, and honest.

This is absolutely the most awful rehabilitation facility. My mother was injured there, caregivers are rude snd rough. My mother came out after long term rehabilitation worse than when she went in. In addition she was not given her prescribed medication and her PCP was never informed.
This facility's care has declined sharply in the past few years, likely as a cost-cutting measure. This facility is going to kill someone, and it might be your family member.And Cal, spare the people your lines of garbage. Just go ahead and say that you didn't like my mom. Just go ahead and admit that you contacted the insurance company to try and make sure my grandmother didn't get the care she needed because you had to feel like a big man.

Better rated regions includeNew Havenwith an average rating of4.1out of 5 stars. We liked Guilford House better than the other community. It's fairly new, it's on one level, and it is small. The staff was friendly and they answered our questions. We were there before lunch, but they were having a birthday party. We saw most of the people who would be staying there, i.e., the memory unit people with the assisted living people, so that was nice.

The Guilford House is a model of what all other Rehab/Skilled Nursing facilities should strive to be. It is, by far, the best on the Shoreline. This is a private husband and wife owned facility and everything is top notch--the staff, the decor, the food and the physical facility itself. The level of care from the CNAs, RNs, PT, OT, and onsite physicians is unsurpassed. This place is where all families should begin their search if rehab or skilled nursing is needed. My choice is to give the Guilford House no stars.
