In 2013 Father John Whiteford, the pastor of St. Jonah Orthodox Church near Spring, stated there were about 6,000-9,000 Eastern Orthodox Christians in Houston. Sallie had children previously and so did J.D. In her spare time, you could find her tending to her flowers and plants or trying to catch the biggest fish at the lake. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Jeanette Nobles; and brothers, Chris Nobles and Donald Joe Nobles. He was a larger than life man who had friends every place he went. If you didn’t know him, he would make sure you soon did.

Carolyn always loved red hair and God gave her two redheaded great-granddaughters. Mr. Charles William Wallace, 71, of Livingston, Texas was born in Livingston, Texas to parents, Arthur Wallace Sr. and Altherine Wallace, and passed away April 12, 2020 in Humble, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Eric O'Guinn; and brothers, Arthur Wallace Jr. and Henry Lee Wallace. Mrs. Barbara Jean McDonald, 88, of Livingston, Texas was born June 12, 1931 in Everette, Washington to parents, Robert VanPatten and Elisabeth VanPatten, and passed away April 18, 2020 in Livingston, Texas.

The two fell in love and married on October 11, 1948 in San Augustine. Bill and Teenie moved from San Augustine to Moscow in 1953, where they raised their children. They were married 36 years before Bill’s death in 1984. He volunteered for the Fire Department at Holiday Lakes and Indian Springs.

In June 2001, Tropical Storm Allison dumped up to 40 inches of rain on parts of Houston, causing what was then the worst flooding in the city's history and billions of dollars in damage, and killed 20 people in Texas.

Kathy was a sales manager for the PACTIV corporation, a member of First United Methodist Church of Livingston, Texas and was also a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Imogene Shell, former resident of Livingston, Texas, passed away on July 12th, 2020. She was born July 20th, 1933 in Memphis, Tennessee to Mary Alice Nichols.
In March 1961, Kennedy voiced a change in policy from supporting a "free" Laos to a "neutral" Laos, indicating privately that Vietnam, and not Laos, should be deemed America's tripwire for communism's spread in the area. In May, he dispatched Lyndon Johnson to meet with South Vietnamese President Ngo Dinh Diem. Johnson assured Diem more aid to mold a fighting force that could resist the communists. Kennedy announced a change of policy from support to partnership with Diem to defeat of communism in South Vietnam.
Assigned to Company B-3, he met and made some of the very best friends any man could ask for. The “Magnificent 7”, Class of ’67, include Nick Nickelson,, Daryl Ray, Carl Richardson, Lawrence Wyatt, Samuel Reeves and the late Earl Hammit and Victor Schmidt. The special relationship and loyalty with this group of men is a brotherhood bond that continued through Bill’s very last breath on this earthly home. After earning his degree at A&M, Bill served his country in the Army and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. As soon as he could, Bill returned to Polk County to make his home in Moscow where he and his brothers began a construction company that subcontracted jobs for TxDot and several building sites in the area. Though Bill’s gentle, kind hearted spirit will be missed on this earth, there is no replacement for the peace in knowing his salvation was determined.

One of his most cherished experiences was being inducted into the Carthage Band Hall of Fame which included having Dr. Timothy Rhea, Director of Bands at Texas A&M University, compose a march in honor of Stuart. He was filled with pride hearing “Bird’s Battlin’ Brigade” for this first time. At 19 he began teaching band, the start of a 47-year career in education. Stuart was band director in Natchitoches Parish schools, Many High School, and Carthage High School.
